Why Link to the SLC?
The SLC is Now the Leading Sailing License for North Americans For Those Who Want to Travel to the Mediterranean and Other Locations Requiring a Sailing License
Due to the inaccessibility for Americans to gain an ICC, the SLC is now the license of choice for North Americans.
Why is the SLC Now so Popular?
For experienced clients with an acceptable resume of experience, gaining the SLC is a simple process where most of it can be done online. Offline, a client must perform a 6-hour on-the-water sailing skills check-out as part of the license-gaining criteria.
Thus gaining the SLC license is a simple and inexpensive process (for skilled and knowledgeable sailors). When clients understand this, they opt for this simple route and thus are more likely to go to the Mediterranean.
Acceptance and Authority
- Line Item 40a on the Croatian Ministry list
- Accepted as an Official “License of the Home Country” where certain Med country laws are written as such
- Port authority tested throughout the Med. Every SLC holder has been given clear passage.
- The United States Coast Guard and NASBLA (the official licensing government entity for the USA) both recognize NauticEd as an official Sailing Education Body.
