Malta—An Eclectic Beauty in The Heart of the Mediterranean

Malta, or the Republic of Malta, is a Southern European island country consisting of an archipelago in the central Mediterranean Sea between Sicily and the North African coast.

Malta is one of the world’s smallest and most densely populated countries. Only its three largest islands are inhabited: Malta Island, Comino (mostly a nature reserve), and Gozo. It has been inhabited since around 5200 C. Having a central Mediterranean location has led to a succession of powers including the Greeks, Romans, Arabs, Sicilians, Spanish, French, and Britain.   Each one has left its cultural mark on the country. As such, Malta is a popular tourist destination for its architectural and historical monuments, fortresses, and sites. It’s warm climate, longstanding seafaring history, numerous outdoor and water sports, and beautiful scenery make Malta an ideal charter destination.
